Happy New Year from Triangulo! We are very excited about the next few weeks -- we have a full schedule of events to get you started after the holidays with the best tango vibes in New York City. Learn to improve your musicality with Korey Ireland Friday January 27th, join us on January 30th for Carina's Milonga workshop, and Master Sacadas and Soltadas with Isaak Oboka on January 31st. Isaac just returned from two months in Buenos Aires and is stopping in the Big Apple to dance and teach at Triangulo. This is an exclusive opportunity to learn cutting edge tango techniques with this young, dynamic and amazing teacher. Don't miss out!
Triangulo's class schedule will remain the same for the new year. We will continue to offer amazing milongas on Tuesdays and Friday at Triangulo and Saturdays at Chelsea Market. DJ Robin and DJ Alec will be charging ahead with great music so come dance with them!
We would also like to announce that Friday milongas just got seriously swanky. We're featuring DJ Adam first Friday of the month, DJ Tine on the second and fifth Fridays of the month, and DJ Kirill on the 3rd Friday of the month. Come party with us and sample an incredible range of traditional and groovy music. What better way to kick off the weekend?
At the start of the New Year we all like to set goals. Its time to determine how far you can go with Tango! In a year you can go from beginner to intermediate or intermediate to advanced. The secret? Keep dancing, and dancing, and dancing. Come to class and take new steps with style and grace. Come to the milongas and have fun practicing your new tricks or polishing your old moves. Its up to you. How much you put in determines how much you get out. Stay focused and keep gaining ground. There will be no shortage of fun challenges and opportunities at Triangulo!
musicality workshop with Korey & Mila, Friday, January 27th
Korey & Mila will be teaching a musicality workshop on fri jan 27th. This is in the place of the regular advanced class at 8:30. So it is free for students in that class, just $22 for everyone else. Korey & Mila are masters o musicality.
Articulation - music in every movement for everyone (really, this is useful for everyone from advanced beginners to advanced advanced)
milonga workshop with Carina Moeller, Monday, January 30th
This is the perfect chance to learn some simple and delightful milonga steps. There will be Beginner Milonga from 7:30 to 8:30pm and then Intermediate Milonga from 8:30 to 9:30pm. 1 workshop for $22, 2 workshops for $40
sacadas & soltadas workshops with Isaac Oboka, Tuesday, January 31st
Isaac Oboka will be teaching two not-to-be-missed workshops on Tuesday January 31st: I come, you go! (sacadas) from 7:30 to 8:30pm for intermediate dancers and Look mom, no embrace! (soltadas) from 8:30 to 9:30pm for advanced dancers. 1 workshop for $22, 2 workshops for $35
Isaac's quest for the heart of tango has taken him most recently to Buenos Aires for two months. On his way back to Colorado, he is stopping by NYC to dance and teach. Isaac is a young, creative, and dynamic dancer known for his clear and insightful teaching. His tango path has been influenced by many people including Nick Johns, Alex Krebs, Jaimes Friedgen and Homer Ladas. He has a strong traditional background and is now exploring the dangers and excitement of new possibilities and ideas that tango has to offer.
absolute beginner workshop, Thursday, February 2nd
Carina teaches this free one hour workshop for absolute beginners once a month. This is an ideal way to try out Argentine Tango for the first time. Starts at 7pm.
