Join TriANGulO for a Special Celebration

Maybe you've seen the work in progress. Or maybe you've just wondered why TriANGulO's far wall is draped with translucent white paper. But after several months in production, TriANGulO will be proudly unveiling "New York's 'School of Tango' - circa 2007" -- a mural modeled after Raphael's 'The School of Athens'-- spanning the entire east wall of the studio and painted by highly regarded artist and local tanguero Russell Joseph Buckingham. Set in a 1930's Parisian style salon, the mural depicts over five dozen dancers, teachers and musicians from all over the world. Mark your calendars for TriANGulO's Tribute to the New York Tango Scene on Saturday September 8th, and come celebrate with us! The milonga will begin at 9:00pm, with the unveiling ceremony commencing at 10:30pm.

Painting Party

While Russell puts the finishing touches on the mural, the other walls need a little love, too. Join us on Saturday, August 25th at 10:00am as we paint the rest of the studio, laugh, eat and have fun, just like Tom Sawyer's gang.

August's Theme

Can't tell the difference between a waltz and a milonga? Having trouble finding the downbeat of a song? Or maybe you've already mastered syncopated turns and want to learn more. This month, we'll be focusing on Musicality. We'll cover how to listen to various song structures and dance to different orchestras . We'll work on dynamics, relating your footwork and bodywork to the rhythm, melody and mood of the music. Then you'll conquer the milonga floor!

Forced Crosses with Steve Cook and Carina Moeller

To cross or not to cross? This month's Intermediate/Advanced class with Steve Cook and Carina will work on Forced Crosses. What is the myth about the cross ? Secrets about the cross and multiple ways to send your partner to the forced cross, accompany your partner in the cross, then apply the dynamics and put it all together.
