Intermediate Argentine Tango: Barridas (Sweeps)

This intermediate-level class focuses on the elegance and musicality of barridas—smooth sweeping actions where one partner gently displaces the other’s foot along the floor. We’ll break down the essential mechanics for clean, controlled sweeps, emphasizing balance, timing, and connection.

Dancers will explore:

• Clear lead-and-follow techniques for safe, fluid barridas

• Body alignment, weight transfer, and grounded movement

• Integrating barridas into the flow of the dance without interrupting musical phrasing

• Variations and transitions that work well in social dancing

Designed for dancers with a solid foundation in Argentine tango fundamentals, this class will help you add subtlety, confidence, and sophistication to your dance while keeping movements comfortable and elegant for both partners.

People who sign up for the Toolkit Class are welcome to take the 6pm class for FREE to brush up on their basic. 2 1/2 hours of dancing.
